An Opulent Safari

WHERE MONEY REALLY CAN BUY PEACE, HAPPINESS AND GENUINE ENCHANTMENT

"First-timers to Africa will lose inhibitions, feel more alive, and begin to understand why, until then, they have only half lived." - Richard Dowden.

It's taken us six years to conceive this itinerary and while it spares no cost, your experiences will be otherworldly and to be honest, quite difficult to describe in a mere website post. In our opinion, this trip will see you visit not only Southern Africa's pre-eminent wilderness areas, but the foremost lodges within them too. From the wild and remote Zambezi River and Mana Pools National Park to your own exclusive island of luxury in the Okavango Delta, this will be ten days of unrivalled Africa at its captivating best.

SAMPLE ITINERARY - 10 DAYS

Day 1-3 - After arriving in Zimbabwe's capital of Harare, you'll be transferred via light aircraft to the famed Zambezi Valley where you'll stay in genuine luxury at the confluence of the Ruckomechi and Zambezi Rivers. Travellers consistently describe this UNESCO World Heritage Site as pervading a sense of the wild and natural and your option of camps do their best to blend in with the Zambezi Valley environment, in particular the many Acacia Albida trees. In addition to the fabulous cuisine, you'll be treated to an abundance of activity options during your stay. These include boat trips on the Zambezi, game drives, bush walks in Mana Pools, catching a tigerfish, canoe trips and hunting for the resident carmine bee-eater colonies to name a few.

Day 4&5 - Time to depart via light aircraft transfer again, this time Victoria Falls bound. Here you'll have a couple of days, more if you choose, to experience the best of what this fabulous natural wonder of the world has to offer. Witnessing the falling sheet of water that is the world's largest waterfall is but one of the things to do during your stay. After having seen and experienced the middle Zambezi during your first three days, here you'll have exclusive access to 20km of the upper Zambezi. Upper meaning the section of the Zambezi above the Victoria Falls. As if a private river weren't enough, you'll also be at your leisure to explore the private Matetsi Game Reserve in the company of qualified Zimbabwean guide.

Day 6-8 - You continue your opulent safari in the heart of the Okavango Delta in understated elegance surrounded by towering trees and lush bush. As will have become customary for you by now, your accommodation is situated in a private concession and you'll awake each day to the sound of elephants trumpeting, baboons messing about and the distinctive call of the African fish eagle.

Day 9&10 - You'll end your opulent safari on a high on a private island, at arguably Southern Africa's most exclusive camp. Located within the game-rich Moremi Game Reserve, this is home to enormous concentrations of plains game and and the larger species such as elephant and buffalo too. If you've grown weary of all that is wild and natural by this stage, fear not, for your own private masseuse will be on hand!
